Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector and a head-up display device that can suppress a striped pattern caused by a change in brightness in a vertical scanning direction from being visually recognized by a user.SOLUTION: A head-up display device (projector) 100 includes: a laser light source 11 that emits light of an image to be projected; an optical scanning part 13 that scans the light from the laser light source 11 in a horizontal scanning direction and a vertical scanning direction; a light detection part 19 for detecting brightness in the vertical scanning direction of the light scanned by the optical scanning part 13; and a control part 22 that performs, on the basis of a change in brightness in the vertical scanning direction based on the brightness detected by the light detection part 19, control to correct the brightness in a direction where a difference in brightness is reduced in the change in brightness.
