Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a water-repellent substrate protection material which is capable of maintaining an active state for a long period of time and can be handled safely when being applied to a substrate. [Solution] This water-repellent substrate protection material is a solution comprising water, a non-ionic surfactant, and a silane coupling agent, wherein the content of the water is 90 weight% or more, the content of the non-ionic surfactant is 0.01 to 5 weight%, and the content of the silane coupling agent is 0.01 to 5 weight%. Thus, clouding and precipitation due to polymerization of the silane coupling agent do not tend to occur. This enables an active state to be maintained for a long period of time. In addition, since the water-repellent substrate protection material is an aqueous dispersion solution that is substantially free of an organic solvent, the water-repellent substrate protection material can be handled safely when being applied to a substrate such as a glass sheet.
