Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-up display device capable of avoiding troubles of a display due to incidence of external light while maintaining visibility of display as much as possible.SOLUTION: A head-up display device 100 has a controller 31 configured to; estimate temperature value of a liquid crystal panel 11a based on ambient temperature around a display 11 acquired by a temperature acquisition unit; estimate an increase in temperature value due to external light SL based on illuminance of the external light SL acquired by an illuminance acquisition unit; compute an expected temperature value of the liquid crystal panel 11a by adding the increase in temperature value to the estimated temperature value of the liquid crystal panel 11a; execute first processing for reducing brightness of a light source 11b when the expected temperature value is determined to be no less than a first threshold; and execute second processing for avoiding irradiation of the display 11 with the external light SL by controlling an actuator 14 when the expected temperature value is determined to be no less than a second threshold that is greater than the first threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
