Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving visibility of a liquid surface suitable for a case where water replenishment is performed based on the lower end of a sleeve (liquid level indicating device) which is formed from a liquid port of a lead storage battery to a specified liquid level of electrolytic solution.SOLUTION: In a lead storage battery in which a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode active material, electrolytic solution are accommodated in a battery tank 2, the opening portion of the battery tank 2 is hermetically sealed with a battery tank lid 4 having a liquid inlet 4a for blocking a liquid mouth plug 4b, a sleeve 4c is suspended from a liquid port 4a to a specified liquid level of the electrolytic solution and water replenishment is performed with the lower end 4d of the sleeve as a reference, aluminum in the range from 8 to 50 mmol/l is contained in the electrolytic solution, and the specific surface area of the positive electrode active material is set in the range from 5 to 9 m/g.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
