Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure which has high purification performance since the contact area between exhaust gas and a catalyst is large, has good thermal shock resistance and can maintain pressure loss to the same extent as compared with that of conventional one.SOLUTION: There is provided a honeycomb structure 100 which comprises: a honeycomb structure part 10 having porous partition walls 1 for partitioning and forming a plurality of cells 2 extending from an inflow side end surface 11 as one end surface to an outflow side end surface 12 as the other end surface; inflow side plugged portions 8 arranged at edge parts on the inflow end surface 11 of predetermined cells of the cells 2; and outflow side plugged portions arranged at edge parts on the inflow end surface 12 side of remaining cells of the cells 2, wherein the shape of the cells 2 is triangular in which the apex is chamfered into a curved shape in a cross section orthogonal to the extending direction of the cells 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
