Abstract:
An apparatus for devolatilizing a material to be processed (2) has a screw machine (3) driven by a driving motor through a gear (5). The screw machine (3) has at least one housing bore (11, 12) in which joined screw shafts (13, 14) are arranged. At least one screw shaft (13, 14) is connected to output shafts (25, 26) connected to the gear (5) through each shaft connection (28, 29). At least one shaft connection (28, 29) is arranged in an inner space (27) of a housing (24) of the gear (5). At least one gas venting channel (44, 45) is formed between at least one housing bore (11, 12) and the inner space (27). In addition, at least one venting opening (46) is arranged in the housing (24) and is connected to the inner space (27). The apparatus allows the material (2) to be devolatilized easily and efficiently through at least one gas venting channel (44, 45), the inner space (27), and the gas venting opening (46). Consequently, the screw machine (3) has a simple and small design.
