Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-sensitivity radiation detection element having a simple structure and high radiation resistance.SOLUTION: An ultraviolet sensor 13 is formed, which is a high-sensitivity photoconductive photodetection element comprising a radiation-resistant zinc oxide-based monocrystalline substrate 14, or zinc oxide-based monocrystalline thin film, having a pair of electrodes 15 spaced apart from each other disposed thereon, and a scintillator 11 being a radiation-resistant light-emitting substance that emits light of a wavelength to which the ultraviolet sensor 13 is sensitive, is disposed to face the ultraviolet sensor 13. Such an arrangement realizes a radiation detection element 1 with high radiation resistance and high sensitivity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
