Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyvinyl acetal resin which hardly causes scales and has uniform acetal distribution, when a polyvinyl acetal resin having 11-40 mol% of degree of acetalization is produced.SOLUTION: A method for producing a polyvinyl acetal resin is a method for producing a polyvinyl acetal resin having 11-40 mol% of degree of acetalization including reacting a polyvinyl alcohol resin having a degree of saponification of 97 mol% or more and an aldehyde compound in water, and adding alcohol having 1 to 4 carbon atoms to the reaction liquid when viscosity of the reaction liquid starts to rise.SELECTED DRAWING: None
