Abstract:
To reduce a probability that name resolution cannot be performed for name resolution inquiries transmitted by client devices.SOLUTION: A DNS server device includes: a request unit for inquiring resources of an authority DNS server device on the basis of a DNS query request transmitted by a client device; and a primary cache for storing a result of inquiring of the authority DNS server device in response to the inquiry about resources by the request unit. When abnormality occurs to the authority DNS server device for the inquiry about resources, the request unit transfers a DNS query request to another DNS server device other than the authority DNS server device and the primary cache stores resources included in a response transmitted by the other DNS server device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
