Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a method for producing a lithium-containing composite oxide capable of obtaining a lithium ion secondary battery excellent in discharge capacity and cycle characteristics; a cathode active material; a positive electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery containing a lithium-containing composite oxide; and a lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a lithium-containing composite oxide represented by LiNiCoMnMO(x:1.1 to 1.7, a:0.15 to 0.55, b:0 to 0.33, c:0.33 to 0.85, d:0 to 0.05, a+b+c+d=1, M:other metal elements, y:molar number of oxygen), which comprises: (b) a step of mixing a hydroxide containing Ni and Mn as essential components and a lithium compound, followed by pulverizing in a liquid medium using a pulverizing medium to obtain a slurry containing a pulverized product having a Dof 0.01 to 1 μm; (c) a step of drying the slurry to obtain a granulated body; and (d) a step of calcining the granulated body at 800 to 1100°C to obtain a lithium-containing composite oxide.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
