Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quenching method and a quenching device capable of easily forming quench hardened layers mutually separated to thickness direction on both the sides of a thin part.SOLUTION: Provided is a quenching method and a quenching device 20 for heating a thin part as a quenching object whose whole is heated-up by performing short time heating in such a manner that heating coils are confronted with either the inside face or the outside face, including: an inner circumferential coil 21 confronted with the inner circumferential face 11; and an outer circumferential coil 22 connected to the inner circumferential coil 21 and confronted with the outer circumferential face 12, and by performing a heating step where heating is simultaneously performed to both the sides via a region less than a quenching temperature to heat both the sides to a quenching temperature or higher and a rapid cooling step where rapid cooling is performed, quench hardened layers 14 are formed on both the sides.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
