Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a sight line direction of a subject in a wide range and maintain detection accuracy of the sight line direction.SOLUTION: A sight line detection device comprises: two cameras 10; light sources 13 each of which is attached to each camera 10; auxiliary light sources 40 which are arranged on a position separated from an optic axis of a lens of each camera 10; a lighting control part 21 for controlling lighting of the light sources 13 and the auxiliary light sources 40; and a calculation part 23 for detecting positions of pupil center and positions of corneal reflection, in which eye images obtained by each of cameras 10 are objects, for calculating a sight line direction of an object person based on the positions of the pupil center and positions of the corneal reflection. The calculation part 23 detects the two positions of corneal reflection by the auxiliary light source 40 in the eye images, when the positions of the corneal reflection cannot be detected by the light sources 13 in the eye image, then estimates the positions of corneal reflection on the light source 13, based on the detected positions, and then calculates the sight line direction of the object using the estimated positions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
