To provide a technique for performing high-quality image processing which reflects photographer's intention.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus according to the invention, is an image processing apparatus which adds blur to a photographed image comprises: distance map acquiring means to acquire a distance map that records information indicating depth distance corresponding to each point on the photographed image; focus position acquiring means to acquire a focus position on the photographed image; reference distance determining means to acquire the depth distance corresponding to the focus position from the distance map and set the acquired depth distance as reference distance; and image processing means to perform image processing on the photographed image by using the distance map and the reference distance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
