Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the durability of an igniter and favorable feeling of use by restricting the occurrence of overshoot and undershoot even when changeover control among a plurality of burner groups is performed.SOLUTION: During changeover control, when combustion is switched from a burner group currently burning in a prescribed combustion stage to a burner group in another combustion stage with a combustion capacity lower than that of the prescribed combustion stage across one or more burner groups not burning, a controller of a water heater switches the combustion stage by repeating the following changeover procedures: (1) a changeover procedure (FIGS. 2(B) and (D)) in which fire of a burner group (4A, 4B) currently burning is made to fly to an adjacent burner group (4B, 4C) so as to make the two groups burning simultaneously; and (2) a changeover procedure (FIGS. 2(C) and (E)) for stopping the burning of the burner group (4A, 4B) that was burning earlier and singly burning only the burner group (4B, 4C).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
