Abstract:
Provided are a filler for a filter vent, which is able to adsorb radioactive iodine more effectively than in the past and is capable of being used in severe accidents; and a filter vent device. This filler 1 for a filter vent comprises granulated zeolite X, a portion of the ion exchange sites of the zeolite X being exchanged by silver, and the remainder being exchanged by at least one metal selected from the group consisting of lead, nickel, and copper. The component ratio (a/b) of silver-exchanged ion exchange sites (a) and non-silver metal-exchanged ion exchange sites (b) among the ion exchange sites is 60/40-80/20. The silver content is set to 17-26 wt%.
