Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snaking phenomenon suppression device which can suppress a snaking phenomenon occurring at a trailer by a simple mechanical structure by using an existing brake device of the trailer.SOLUTION: This snaking phenomenon suppression device comprises a tractor 1 and a trailer 3 which is connected to a tractor end part, and towed so as to be turnable, and has a pair of brake devices 13a, 13b at both sides in a vehicle width direction. The snaking phenomenon suppression device also has a pair of rope-shaped members 23a, 23b for telescopically connecting both sides of the tractor rear part in a vehicle width direction and brake operation input parts 29a in a pair of the brake devices of the trailer in diagonal directions, and regulation mechanisms 35a, 35b for regulating the displacement of the rope-shaped members in an elongation direction being an elongation side when the trailer is swung with connecting parts 7, 17 between the tractor and the trailer as fulcrums at the traveling of the tractor at a prescribed vehicle speed or higher. By this constitution, when a snaking phenomenon occurs, the displacement of the rope-shaped members at the elongation side is regulated, the brake device at a swing side of the trailer is braked, and the trailer is returned to an original position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
