Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for improving recognition accuracy of characters included in a document image.SOLUTION: A character recognition device has: a storage part holding a general word dictionary registering general words and a user word dictionary registering user specific words; a character identification part identifying one or more character candidates from a document image to be an image including a document; a word candidate identification part which identifies one or more word candidates from one or more combinations of character candidates identified by the character identification part on the basis of the general word dictionary and the user word dictionary, and imparts score showing adoption possibilities of the word candidates to the respective word candidates; a score adjustment part which adjusts scores of the word candidates adapted to a prescribed condition among one or more word candidates identified by the word candidate identification part; and a score evaluation part determining combinations of word candidates to adopt on the basis of the scores of the respective word candidates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
