Abstract:
To provide a pair of gusseted socks excellent in feeling of wear, whose gusset is disposed at the finger crotch between a finger bag of the thumb and the second finger, and thereby the thumb and the second finger can be easily moved freely when worn, and whose gusset part fits the finger crotch; and a knitting method thereof.SOLUTION: A sock has a gusset 6 disposed between a thumb's finger bag 1 and a finger bag 2 adjoining the thumb's finger bag. In a flat-knitting machine having needle beds arranged so as to face each other longitudinally, the gusseted sock is formed by knitting cylindrically from the finger tip side 1a of the thumb's finger bag 1 to the root 1b of the thumb's finger bag, then feeding knitting yarns in zigzag to a plurality of knitting needles on the front and rear sides adjoining the knitting needles having been used to knit the thumb's finger bag to form a knit-starting portion 6a for knitting the gusset 6; followed by knitting the finger bag 2 adjoining the thumb's finger bag.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
