Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for predicting a shape of a cable, capable of more accurately predicting the shape of the cable when cabling as compared with when modeling a cable by only a homogeneous body consisting of a homogeneous material.SOLUTION: The three-dimensional shape of a cable including a plurality of twisted conductor lines when cabling is predicted by the steps of: receiving data on a homogeneous body 11 consisting of a homogeneous material imitating a portion except the plurality of conductor lines and data on a spiral truss 12 imitating the conductor lines; preparing an analysis model 10 having the spiral truss 12 buried in the homogeneous body 11 on the basis of the received data; receiving information on the positions and directions of both end parts of the analysis model 10 when cabling the cable; and predicting the three-dimensional shape of the analysis model 10 on the basis of the information on the positions and the directions using a finite element method analysis program.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
