Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a color composition capable of forming films with anisotropy in light absorption which have an excellent dichroic ratio; a dichroic dye compound; a film with anisotropy in light absorption; a layered product; and an image display device. The color composition of the present invention comprises: a dichroic dye compound which has a Hansen solubility parameter of 17.5 or greater and has a structure presented by the following formula (1); and a liquid-crystalline compound. In formula (1), A1, A2, and A3 each independently represent an optionally substituted divalent aromatic group, provided that any one of A1, A2, and A3 represents an optionally substituted divalent thienothiazole group. In formula (1), L1 and L2 each independently represent a substituent.
