Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential device which can be downsized, and can engages/disengages a multi-plate clutch with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A differential device 1 is equipped with a differential mechanism 13 which has a differential case 3, a pinion shaft 5, a pinion 7, and a pair of side gears 9 and 11; and a differential restriction mechanism 15 which restricts a differential of mechanism 13. A differential restriction mechanism 15 has a multi-plate clutch 19 which is disposed on an inner diameter side than an engaging portion 17 on the one side gear 9 side, and restricts a differential between the pair of the side gears 9 and 11; and a pressure plate 21 which is disposed axially adjacent to the multi-plate clutch 19, and can axially presses the multi-plate clutch 19. The pressure plate 21 is engaged so as to integrally rotate with the differential case 3 through an engaging portion 23 and axially move, and is engaged so as to integrally rotate with the pinion shaft 5 through a cam portion 25 and press the multi-plate clutch 19 according to input torque to the differential case 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
