Abstract:
To prevent atomization of an oil with a simple structure in returning the oil to an oil pan by utilizing a timing chain arrangement space.SOLUTION: A chain guide 23 for a return passage to guide the return passage of a timing chain 11, is fixed to forward recessed portions 20 of a cylinder head 2 and a cylinder block 1. An oil drop hole 39 for returning an oil collected at a front portion of the cylinder head 2 is formed on a region hidden by an upper end portion of the chain guide 23 for the return passage, of the forward recessed portion 20 of the cylinder head 2. An oil flows down to a lower part along a rib 32. As the flow of the oil is covered by the chain guide 23, the oil is not brought into contact with the timing chain 11 and not atomized.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
