Abstract:
Provided is an optical receptacle that facilitates confirming whether or not a connected optical connector plug is precisely held at a desired position even after the product is completed. An optical receptacle 1 comprises: an optical fiber assembly 13 including a receptacle ferrule 15; a housing 10 including a first engaging part 21 that engages with the receptacle ferrule 15, and an engaging hole 34 that engages with an optical connector plug having a plug ferrule; and a tubular body 36 and a sleeve 38 for ensuring alignment between the receptacle ferrule 15 and the plug ferrule. The first engaging part 21 restricts the movement of the receptacle ferrule 15 and has an exposed end face 25 that can be seen from outside the housing 10. The engaging hole 34 restricts the movement of the optical connector plug and has an exposed end face 35 that can be seen from outside the housing 10 along with the end face 25.
