Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a program of wrong version to be rewritten when the program is written to a main microcomputer by arbitrarily turning ON a monitoring function for the main microcomputer by a sub microcomputer.SOLUTION: When a monitoring function for a main microcomputer by a sub microcomputer is turned OFF, a worker connects a monitoring-OFF tool to an electronic control device for automobile instead of a sensor which outputs control information, and inputs a predetermined false sensor signal that the monitoring-OFF tool outputs to the sub microcomputer. The sub microcomputer determines, when the input sensor signal has a predetermined value, that a stop condition of a reset request signal is met, and stops outputting the reset request signal to the main microcomputer even if detecting operation abnormality of the main microcomputer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
