Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new embedding agent using a highly hydrophilic resin, which serves as a substitute for formalin as a base material, and to provide an embedding method for electron microscope using the embedding agent.SOLUTION: A tissue embedding method includes immersing a tissue in an embedding liquid, and standing and polymerizing the liquid, where the embedding liquid is obtained by adding, to 100 pts.wt. of an aqueous solution, 1-5 pts.wt. of a crosslinking agent, 0.0001-0.001 pt.wt. of a polymerization accelerator and, as other monomer(s), 0-100 pts.wt. of one or more monomers selected from the group consisting of methyl methacrylate, hydroxyethyl methacrylate, dodecyl methacrylate, 2-methyl-2-propenoic acid Calkyl ester, and (1-methylethylidene)bis(4,1-phenyleneoxy-2,1-ethanediyl)bismethacrylate, the aqueous solution containing N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (NVP), which has high hydrophilicity and becomes a polymer when polymerized, in a monomer concentration of 98 to 100%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
