Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spark plug for an internal combustion engine, which is able to restrict channeling of an insulator, and to provide an ignition device having the same.SOLUTION: A spark plug 1 for an internal combustion engine comprises a housing 2, an insulator 3, a center electrode 4, and a ground electrode 21. The insulator 3 is held inside the housing 2. The center electrode 4 is held inside the insulator 3. The center electrode 4 projects further than the leading end of the insulator 3. The ground electrode 21 is provided at the leading end of the housing 2. The spark plug 1 is configured to cause discharge between the center electrode 4 and the ground electrode 21 by applying a high frequency voltage to the center electrode 4. The center electrode 4 has an electrode base material 41, and a chip 42 disposed at the leading-end side of the electrode base material 41. The chip 42 has Cr. An ignition device 10 has: the spark plug 1; and a high frequency power source part 6 that applies a high frequency voltage to the center electrode of the spark plug 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
