Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper arm assisting device capable of steplessly setting a height of holding an arm body for supporting an upper arm part without including an electric actuator such as a solenoid.SOLUTION: An upper arm assisting device of the present invention comprises: a rotary side support shaft having a rotary side shaft part that rotates around an axis in response to rotation of an arm body supporting an upper arm part; a fixed side support shaft having a fixed side shaft part arranged opposite the rotary side shaft part; and a coil spring that is out-fitted across the two shaft parts and prevents rotation in a descent direction around the axis of the rotary side shaft part due to frictional force between the rotary side shaft part and itself in an initial state in which no load is applied to the arm body, and also prevents rotation in the descent direction around the axis of the rotary side shaft part by being diametrically reduced by frictional force between the rotary side shaft part and itself when load is applied to the upper arm part of a user to the arm body while allowing rotation of the rotary side shaft part in am ascent direction around the axis during an ascent action of the arm body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
