Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and the like that can perform more fragmented temperature control irrespective of a power supply environment without a difference in resolution of PWM control.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a fixing device that heats a fixing member with a halogen lamp heater to fix a toner image transferred to a recording medium; a PWM modulation circuit that performs PWM modulation of an AC voltage at a higher modulation frequency than the frequency of the AC voltage and supplies the AC voltage to the halogen lamp heater; and a control part that, when a voltage value of the supplied AC voltage is larger than a reference voltage value, increases the modulation frequency according to the voltage value of the AC voltage, and controls the duty ratio of an output from the PWM modulation circuit so as to prevent the voltage supplied to the halogen lamp heater from exceeding the rated voltage of the halogen lamp heater.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
