Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device which enables a seal member for preventing entry of foreign objects into a speed reducer housing which houses a speed reducer to be assembled without being damaged by a pinion gear.SOLUTION: An electric power steering device 1 includes: a rack housing 51 which houses a rack shaft 15; a second pinion shaft 31 which meshes with the rack shaft 15; a speed reducer 32 having a worm wheel 36 connected with a protruding portion 34B protruding from the rack housing 51 in the second pinion shaft 31; a speed reducer housing 52 which houses the speed reducer 32; and an annular seal member 84. The seal member 84 is disposed closer to the second pinion gear 35 side than the worm wheel 36 in the speed reducer housing 52 and seals a gap between the second pinion shaft 31 and the speed reducer housing 52.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
