Abstract:
The invention provides a speed reduction device which has good machinability when processing a workpiece which is a processing material of a component with a hole. The speed reduction device is provided with a perforated member provided with a rolling surface on which a rolling element rolls and a hole, wherein the perforated member is provided with a base material region and a surface-hardened layer located on the surface side of the base material region and having a hardness higher than the hardness of the base material region, and the surface-hardened layer is provided with a surface layer region and a hardness transition region which are provided in this order from the surface toward the depth direction perpendicular to the surface, and when the amount of change in Vickers hardness per 0.1 mm in the depth direction is defined as the amount of change in hardness, the surface layer region includes a site that continues from the surface to the hardness transition region and the amount of change in hardness is 0 or greater. The hardness transition region includes a site where the hardness decreases continuously in the depth direction and the amount of change in hardness is-60 or less, the rolling surface is provided on the surface of the surface layer region, and the hole is provided in the base material region.
