Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag that is able to effectively protect an occupant in the event of oblique collision.SOLUTION: An air bag comprises a second expansion part 32 located inside in a vehicle width direction with respect to a first expansion part 31 located in front of an occupant A in an inflating state. The second expansion part 32 is vertically divided by a partition 34 into an upper expansion part 35 and a lower expansion part 36 forming an air chamber integrally with the first expansion part 31. A partition wall with a communication port is interposed between the first expansion part 31 and the upper expansion part 35. The head A1 of the occupant A is restrained by the upper expansion part 35 in the event of oblique collision, thereby restricting a head angular velocity. The upper body of the occupant A is restrained by the lower expansion part 36 and oblique movement of the occupant A is restricted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
