Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both of a high battery performance and the safety in the event of overcharge by generating a sufficient amount of gas in an early stage of overcharge without lowering a positive electrode energy density or output in charge/discharge.SOLUTION: A hermetically sealed secondary battery disclosed herein comprises: a multilayer electrode body arranged by laminating positive and negative electrode sheets with a separator interposed therebetween; a battery case in which the multilayer electrode body is housed; an electrode terminal electrically connected to the multilayer electrode body; and a current interrupt device mechanism provided in a conducting path between the multilayer electrode body and the electrode terminal, which cuts the conducting path when a pressure in battery case rises. In the hermetically sealed type secondary battery, an adhesive layer is formed on a surface of the separator opposed to each positive electrode sheet for gluing the positive electrode sheet with the separator. The adhesive layer includes 0.1-10 wt.% of lithium carbonate to a mass of a positive electrode active material layer of the positive electrode sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: None
