Abstract:
To realize accurate diagnostic operation on passenger conveyor that has special steps that are different in weight from other steps among a plurality of steps.SOLUTION: There is provided a passenger conveyor 1 having a control device 5 for controlling operation by driving of a drive device 6, which includes a plurality of steps 13 with special steps 14 having a weight different from that of other steps. The control device is connected with a plurality of position detection sensors 15 and 16 for detecting whether or not the special steps are located in the horizontal part of the upper floor 2 or the lower floor 3. The control device drives the drive device on the condition that no position detection signal is received from each position detection sensor before starting a diagnostic operation by the drive device, and stops driving of the drive device and causes the drive device to perform the diagnostic operation when it receives a position detection signal from any of the position detection sensors.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
