Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection device capable of securely determining whether there is an object in a dead-angle region both when the object exits from the dead-angle region and when the object stays in the dead-angle region.SOLUTION: When an object is positioned in a dead-angle peripheral region AB surrounding a dead-angle region DBL at time t-1 and a relative speed of the object at the time t-1 is in a direction to the dead-angle region DBL, the dead-angle region DBL is regarded as a candidate for a dead-angle region that the object enters at time t. Then when the object is not present at the time t in dead-angle peripheral regions ALB, AB surrounding the dead-angle region DBL regarded as the candidate, it is determined that the object has entered the dead-angle region DBL. Further, when the object is present at time t+α in the dead-angle peripheral regions ALB, AB surrounding the dead-angle region DBL in which the object is determined to be present, it is determined that the object has exited from the dead-angle region DBL.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
