Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a modulation circuit capable of performing bias control with high accuracy without depending on a mark rate of an optical signal.SOLUTION: A modulation circuit comprises multiplexing means 1, modulation means 2, demultiplexing means 3, measurement means 4 and bias control means 5. A first optical signal of a first wavelength, a first light of a second wavelength that is different from the first wavelength, and a second light of a third wavelength that is different from the first wavelength and the second wavelength are multiplexed by the multiplexing means 1 and outputted as a multiplexed signal. The modulation means 2 applies modulation to the multiplexed signal, and the signal is outputted as a modulated signal. The modulated signal is demultiplexed by the demultiplexing means 3 and outputted as a first modulated signal of the first wavelength, a second modulated signal of the second wavelength and a third modulated signal of the third wavelength. The measurement means 4 measures amplitude levels of the second modulated signal and the third modulated signal. The bias control means 5 controls a bias voltage to be applied when modulating the multiplexed signal, based on the amplitude levels.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
