Abstract:
To provide an internal combustion engine for a saddle-type vehicle including a cooling fin easy in die-casting, secured in strength, and having good appearance.SOLUTION: In an internal combustion engine 3 for a saddle-type vehicle including a plurality of cooling fins 7 on right and left side faces 34c, d of an internal combustion engine constituent member 34 extending in a cylinder axis C direction from a crank case 30, extending in a lateral direction orthogonal to the cylinder axis C, arranged in a circumferential direction, and reduced in thickness in an extending direction, the internal combustion engine constituent member includes a plurality of orthogonal ribs 8 on right and left side faces in a manner of extending in the lateral direction orthogonal to the cylinder axis C and crossing the cooling fins, the cooling fin has a side cooling fin portion 7a including a large angle portion 72 at a basic end portion 71 side having a large surface inclination angle α to a face H orthogonal to the cylinder axis, and a small angle portion 74 at a tip portion 73 side having a small surface inclination angle β, and positioned only between the orthogonal rib at an outermost side in a front direction and the orthogonal rib at an outermost side in a rear direction, and a front-side cooling fin portion 7c and a rear-side cooling fin portion 7b outside of the orthogonal ribs at the outermost sides in the front and rear directions, among the cooling fins, have a single surface inclination angle γ.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
