Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing an agent for reducing uremic substances in the blood which has an action of effectively lowering (reducing) the concentration of uremic substances in the blood, and a prophylactic or ameliorating agent for uremia which has an action of effectively ameliorating uremia. When administered through an oral route etc., an agent for reducing uremic substances in the blood or a prophylactic or ameliorating agent for uremia, said agents comprising one or more kinds of compounds selected from tyrosine and pharmacologically acceptable salts and esters thereof as active ingredient(s), can prevent or ameliorate (treat) symptoms or diseases caused by the accumulation (increase) of uremic substances in the blood.
