Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten metal surface shape estimation method and a molten metal surface shape estimation device where, in continuous casting, by suitably deciding the installation positions of molten metal surface level meters, the more precise estimation of the molten metal surface shapes within a mold in an optional time is made possible.SOLUTION: Provided is a molten metal surface shape estimation method where, based on the measured values of the molten metal surface heights within a mold of a continuous casting machine in M measurement points (M≥2) installed arranged in the width direction of a mold, the molten metal surface shapes as a distribution in the mold width direction of the molten metal surface heights based on the case where the molten metal surfaces are horizontal are estimated, where, in a coordinate system in which the mold width direction is defined as an x-axis direction and the center in the mold width direction satisfies x=0, the value of the coordinates in the M observation points satisfies -W/2 or higher and also W/2 or lower, and also, about each n, the value of the coordinates in at least one measurement point is the value other than X=(1+2k-n)W/2n; W denotes the mold width; and N denotes an integer of 2 or higher showing the number of the wavelength components in the sine waves of the wavelength 2W/n(n=1 to N) in which both edges in the width direction of the mold composing the molten surface shapes are made into the antinodes of the waves in the width direction of the mold composing the molten surface shapes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
