Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test method capable of evaluating the fatigue characteristic of a steel pipe using a relatively small test piece.SOLUTION: The test method includes: a step of preparing a test piece 20 sampled from a steel pipe of an inner diameter 2ρ so as to include the inner surface of the steel pipe; and a step of executing a fatigue test using the test piece 20. The test piece 20 includes a cross-sectionally arcuate groove 20a that has a substantially rectangular cross section and is an inner surface of the steel pipe. A depth d of the groove 20a and a thickness h of a gauge mark portion of the test piece 20 satisfy the equation d≤0.25h (1), width w of the gauge mark portion of the test piece 20 is equal to or greater than the thickness h of the gauge mark portion of the test piece 20, and the depth d of the groove and the inner diameter 2ρ satisfy the equation ρ≥d (2).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
