Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nitrogen gas separation method and a nitrogen separation apparatus capable of obtaining nitrogen gas with less energy when the flow rate of the nitrogen gas changes.SOLUTION: In a nitrogen gas separation method, a raw material gas containing nitrogen gas and oxygen gas is supplied under pressure to two or more adsorption towers 1A, 1B loaded with molecular sieve carbon. Each adsorption tower repeats an adsorption step, a pressure equalization step, a desorption step, and another pressure equalization step to separate the nitrogen gas as the product gas. According to reduction of the flow rate of the nitrogen gas, there is extended an adsorption/desorption period when the adsorption and the desorption step are practiced in each adsorption tower. In addition, there is changed a degree of pressure equalization of the gas that is sent from the adsorption tower 1A in the pressure equalization step following the adsorption step to the other adsorption tower 1B in the pressure equalization step following the desorption step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
