Abstract:

To provide a silhouette extracting method and a device capable of accurately extracting a silhouette of an object from a camera image.SOLUTION: A silhouette extracting device includes a global statistic value obtaining unit 22 that calculates, based on a feature amount of each pixel for each camera image, a global statistical value; region dividing unit 23 means that divides a camera image into a plurality of local regions R; a local statistical value obtaining unit 24 that calculates, based on a feature amount of each pixel for each local region R, a local statistical value; a local threshold setting unit 25 that sets, based on the global statistical value and the local statistical value of each local region R, a threshold value thfor each local region R; and a silhouette image generating unit 27 that extracts a silhouette and generates a silhouette image, by comparing, for each local region R, a difference between a feature amount of each pixel of the camera image and a feature amount of each corresponding pixel of a background image with a threshold value thpeculiar to a local region R.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
