Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed reducer for actualizing a small size and a high speed reduction ratio, and enabling the suppression of a rotational speed fluctuation on the output side and vibration.SOLUTION: The speed reducer includes an input plate formed with a first ball engagement groove, an output plate formed with a second ball engagement groove, a plurality of balls for engaging with both ball engagement grooves of the input plate and the output plate opposing each other in the axial direction, and a cage having a plurality of pockets for holding the balls movably in the radial direction. The input plate has a polygonal, cylindrical groove shape with the number of polygons being the same as the number of the balls. The output plate has a wavy groove shape to be rotated with the rotation angle of the output plate keeping a transmission-ratio relationship to the rotation angle of the input plate all the time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
