PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the replacement workability of a recording material to be supplied and recovered at the time of forming an image on the continuous recording material.SOLUTION: A recording material supply and recovery device 2 for supplying and recovering a continuous recording material R with respect to an image formation unit 1 includes: a supply unit 3 which is provided on one side of the image formation unit 1 and supplies the continuous recording material R; a recovery unit 4 which is provided on the same side as the supply unit 3, and on the lower side or upper side of the supply unit 3, and recovers the continuous recording material R that has passed through the image formation unit 1; and a switching mechanism 5 which switches the positions of the supply unit 3 and recovery unit 4 in a movable manner in the vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
