Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesia-chromium brick capable of extending further life while maintaining spalling resistance close to that of a magnesia-chromium brick.SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method of a magnesia-chromium brick in which pitch is impregnated into a burned magnesia-chromium brick. The burned magnesia-chromium brick contains MgO of 25 to 85 mass%, CrOof 5 to 55 mass%, AlOof 1 to 14 mass%, FeOof 2 to 17 mass% and impurities of less than 5 mass%. Burning temperature of the burned magnesia-chromium brick is 1650 to 2000°C. Impregnation rate by a pitch impregnation treatment is 2 to 8 mass%, the pitch impregnation treatment includes inputting the magnesium-chromium brick after burning in a melting tank excess heated at 100 to 400°C in advance, and conducting a treatment at pressing press of 10 kgf/cmor more and pressing time of 2 hours or more. The pitch used in the pitch impregnation treatment is 5 mass% or less of a quinoline insoluble component and fixed carbon amount is 25 mass% or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None
