Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably recover scattered debris according to image information, such as the coverage of an image.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 comprises a suction mechanism 70 that recovers a toner scattered from developing roller 50Y and the like. The suction mechanism 70 includes a suction route 60, shutter members 68Y, 68M, 68C, and 68K, and a toner dust collector 78. The suction route 60 consists of developing device-side ducts 62Y, 62M, 62C, and 62K that are provided corresponding to developing devices 5Y, 5M, 5C, and 5K for respective colors, and a body-side duct 64. The body-side duct 64 is connected, at an end on the downstream side in a suction direction D2, to the toner dust collector 78 that recovers a toner sucked by the suction route 60. After completion of a job, when the variation width of the coverage is large or high coverage continues, a cleaning mode is executed for adjusting opening/closing of the shutter members 68Y, 68M, 68C, and 68K to control to narrow the opening of the suction route 60.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
