Abstract:
An evaluation apparatus includes an obtainer, a detector, a generator, and an evaluator. The obtainer is configured to obtain track information showing a track of a laser target spot made by a laser beam on a workpiece. The detector is configured to detect intensity information showing, in a time-series order, intensities of an optical feedback of the laser beam returning from the workpiece. The generator is configured to correlate the track information and the intensity information with each other based on time so as to generate intensity distribution information showing a distribution of the intensities over the workpiece. The evaluator is configured to evaluate, based on the intensity distribution information, a welding state indicating how the workpiece is welded by the laser beam.
