PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel polyamide resin that can be produced from biomass-based ingredients and is excellent in the heat resistance, strength, elastic modulus, impact resistance, low water absorption, transparency and vibration damping.SOLUTION: An amorphous polyamide copolymer comprises: a dicarboxylic acid unit represented by general formula (1); a linear aliphatic dicarboxylic acid unit having 2-18 carbon atoms and/or an aromatic dicarboxylic acid unit having 1-5 benzene rings; and a linear aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic diamine unit.SELECTED DRAWING: None
