Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the computing time of encoding processing, by performing appropriate block division while suppressing decline in encoding efficiency.SOLUTION: An encoder 1 includes a reference hierarchical order acquiring section 11 for acquiring the order IDof a reference hierarchy of a reference frame referred by a coding object frame at the time of encoding, a block size candidate determining section 12 for changing the number of candidates of CU size, i.e. the size of a code unit, according to the order IDof reference hierarchy, and an encoding unit 20 performing encoding by selecting the CU size from candidates of CU size, and dividing the encoding object frame into code units of the CU size.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
