PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual recognition system that reduces the risk of wrong operation and accident without requiring a user to change the point of view.SOLUTION: There is provided a visual recognition system 200 that comprises: a display part 30 that displays display information including characters and/or images; and a light control filter that is arranged on the outside of the display part 30, and includes: an external light transmission type head-mounted display 100 that controls transmissivity of the light control filter to transmit light from the outside; a determination part that determines an object 210; and a control device that controls the transmissivity according to the determination performed by the determination part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
