Abstract:
A methacrylic resin excellent in moldability, solvent resistance, mechanical properties and heat resistance is provided. A method for producing a methacrylic resin excellent in productivity is provided. A methacrylic resin having 99.1 % by mass or more and 99.9% by mass or less of a repeating unit derived from methyl methacrylate, 0.1% by mass or more and 0.9% by mass or less of a repeating unit derived from alkyl acrylate, and a proportion of the molecular weight component of 1/5 or less of the peak molecular weight Mph in the high molecular weight region side obtained from an elution curve by a gel permeation chromatography of the methacrylic resin is 7% or more and 40% or less.
